Keep Your Office Space Smelling Nice

With high temperatures causing things to ferment faster and windows staying closed to keep AC in, Summer can easily become the season of smells. Here are a few tips to keep your office smelling nice and fresh, despite the sweltering heat!

Open Windows in the Morning

Early in the morning before the heat hits, open the windows to allow for some natural air and cross breeze. The cool air will not only fresh up the interiors, but help wake up staff a bit for a more productive morning!

Keep It Clean

This one probably seems apparent, but keeping your office nice and clean is the first line of defense in keeping it odorless. Having a commercial cleaning company regularly doing your cleaning is vital, as they’ll provide a deeper, more comprehensive clean. In addition to a thorough clean, not having to worry about scrubbing and dumping trashes daily will allow employees to focus their time on what matters.

Target the Problem Areas

Let’s be honest, the kitchen/break room and bathrooms are the source of most unpleasant smells. Having the bathrooms consistently cleaned by a professional company is the only way to help rid them of developing smells on the regular. In the kitchen/break room, be cognisant of the fridge and sink, making sure spoiled food is being promptly thrown away and messes and spills aren’t getting missed!

Watch the Trashes

Food in the trash bins are a sure fire way to make your office space smelly–especially in the summertime. Try to remind employees to keep their food trash contained to the kitchen or an outside trash. No one wants to be around leftover lunch scraps while they work.

Scent it Up

In addition to eliminating unpleasant odors in the office, it can be nice to add some pleasant ones! While candles aren’t great for an office environment, nice smells can be easily be added with air freshener plug-ins and diffusers. Just remember to keep the scents very mild, as many people have sensitivities to smells!

More and more companies these days are outsourcing work to save money, relieve management resource strain, and to limit liability. The expectation for clients is that their janitorial partner will not only do a top-quality job, but also supply workers compensation & employers’ liability, general liability from workmanship, automotive liability, cyber liability, and potential theft liability. At JaniTek, we protect clients by listing them as ‘additional insured’ on all applicable policies to insure protection and customer satisfaction. Our clients appreciate this protection and transparency as we strive to consistently align our coverage limits with the exposures of our clients. Additionally, our clients are notified at renewal if our coverage has changed or been moved to other reputable carriers.

In addition to being a fully insured company, all JaniTek employees go through a comprehensive, “1000 point” BSCAI background check and social security verification. This background check includes access to information from the Federal Criminal Records database and all of the 3400+ county court houses throughout the United States. We conduct security specific training and service checks, and our Dial-Direct check-in system pinpoints the exact time our team arrives and leaves your facility. Our Supervisors train and continually inspect our cleaners to ensure all exterior doors are properly secured and that your alarm system is properly operated.

JaniTek janitors are solid, hardworking, and trustworthy employees who are simply working hard to provide for themselves and their families. These same team members are truly grateful for the opportunities that our clients present them with, and they work diligently to earn and maintain the trust of our clients.
